Economic and Trade Missions

Throughout the year, the Chamber organizes economic and trade missions in Quebec, Canada and Italy where institutions, governments and businesses are represented. These activities create business opportunities and help to establish profitable relationships over the short, medium and long term.

To this end, the Chamber’s strength is to make it easier for individuals to come together, and to form a group of key actors around a project.

Calabria One to One Telematic Meetings
Date: March - April2012
Fields of expertise: Agri-Food and Oenology

Objectives:
  • Six producers from Calabria in the agri-food and wine industries are looking to initiate commercial talks with Canadian importers and distributors of food products and wine agents, with the objective of finding a partner to import and distribute their products;
  • Explore potential for future collaborations;
  • Business meetings with local importers, distributors, wine agents and private importers of wine.

Mission to Siracusa (Sicily)

Progetto Veneto - Canada
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada will be working with the Region of Veneto and the local Internationalization Desk, Veneto Promozione in the promotion of the territory and the commercialization of agri food products made in this Region.

TOURISM
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada has been mandated by the Region to scout the market and find tour operators interested in adding a touristic package of Veneto to their existing packages. The different phases of the project are:
  • analysis of the potential demand
  • scouting of tour operators interested in including Veneto in their existing packages or developing new packages
  • The partnering local tour operators will be visiting the territory and meeting with potential partners in the month of April 2013
  • Development and Commercialization of new packages from April- July 2012
  • Promotion of new packages in the fall months of 2013 via different activities such as workshops, presentations, participation in sectorial tradeshow

AGRIFOOD
  • Ten agri-food producers from the Veneto region are looking to initiate commercial talks with Canadian importers-distributors of food products with the objective of finding a partner to import and distribute their products (list of producers to follow)
  • From March through April 2013 , the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada will be organizing virtual business meetings with potential local importers-distributors looking at expanding their existing product line
  • Promotional activities such as in store tastings, seminars, cooking show will be organized in the fall months 2013 to promote the agri food products that enter the market following the one to one virtual meetings that will take place in the first half of the year
